100 in 1 day Toronto June 7th is one of our photo walk days. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A ROUGH OUTLINE. LET ME KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP PLAN THIS EVENT From 100 in 1 day committee: 100in1day.ca/toronto/#top .....What if hundreds of people united, each putting in place the changes they wish to see in their city, all on the same day? On June 7, for the first time-ever, Toronto will host an event called 100 in 1 Day. This citizen-driven festival will unite people across the city to make Toronto a better place by creating acts of urban change. These acts, or interventions, have the potential to raise awareness of urban and social issues, inspire ideas, and motivate leaders to consider new approaches to old problems...... FIRSTLY.... BELOW IS WHAT WAS FLESHED OUT OF AN INITIAL IDEA, AT THE 100 IN 1 DAY WORKSHOP THAT I WENT TO YESTERDAY. Our mission: To show Toronto in a different light than conventional tourist photos. (THIS CAN CERTAINLY BE ELABORATED ON, CHANGED, ADDED TO) Our Intervention: 1. Show people of Toronto, through photography, places of the city they did not know were there and things from a different perspective that normal tourist photography. Maybe some photos of cycling in Toronto, bicycles, parks, brickworks etc. It will be the largest group of photographers in Toronto in one place on this one day. 2. Photo art in Grange Park (behind the AGO). 3. Each participant will print 8.5x11 and laminate 1 or 2 of their photos, which will then be hung from trees. Activities: 1. Invite people to bring whatever camera they have, film, digital, cell, etc. 2. Photographers will be on hand to talk about the photos and people can take a guess at where these were taken. 3.
