12 March 2014: Mumeng District Youth ends Councils Meet. The ELC Mumeng District Youth Council closed its 3 days Youth Council Meeting today. The closing ceremony was attended by 30 Council members and observers and was held at Timini Paris. Delegates from the National Youth Desk who witness the closing ceremony includes the National Youth Director Mr. Reuben Mete, Music Advisor Mr. Roland Hati and Boana District Youth Coordinator Mr Tonny Kundang. Pastor Anthon of Timini Parish officiate the closing ceremony and also commission the hand over take over of the ELC Mumeng District Youth Treasurer and Secretary. In his speech, Mr. Mete thank ELC Mumeng Youth to make such smooth Hand Over Take over ceremony of its Council Members and challenge the Councils to take such initiatives and precedence set with them to their Parishes and Congregation and allowing such handing over of duties rather than clinging onto the positions and asserts of the church as it was now a norm by the Lutheran Church were people still wanting to hold onto the power despite church decisions to change in leadership. Mete also announce the 37 new opportunities created already in Youth Desk to see young people having access to life skills trainings and to build human resource of ELCPNG. The opportunities include two of its members to participate in the Ola Fou New Guinea Pacifika Youth Development Project and 35 of which 20 male and 15 female to involve in a month long training with the National Performance Arts Troupe (NPAT) in Goroka, Eastern Highlands.
