14 years ago or so a dear friend, Arlene Villareal, asked me if I would help her start a cheer squad at Russell. Me thinking, Sure, well do that. Itll be cute said yes! Because of that defining moment, both my daughters were blessed to be coached by Mrs. V. in competitive cheer and continued in school cheer when Mrs. V. moved to Weslaco. Yesterday, my Samantha began her last year of cheer, today was her first day of her last cheer camp, in a few days it will be her last first game of the season, etc...ITS BEEN AN EXHILARATING RIDE! I love you, Baby Girl Samantha Solis! Have a memorable senior year! And thank you Arlene - Mrs. V. Know you are loved and cherished by so many!
