Details: Early Warning Network: ewn.au NT Fire Weather Warning For the northwest Darwin-Daly District Issued by the BUREAU OF METEOROLOGY, DARWIN at 1700 CST Wednesday 1 OCTOBER 2014 for rest of today and Thursday Fire Danger over the northwest Darwin-Daly District is expected to ease this evening as winds decrease. However, moderate to fresh, dry and gusty east to southeast winds are expected to cause SEVERE FIRE DANGER over the northwest Darwin-Daly District on Thursday. Fires will be very difficult to control, unpredictable, fast moving and very dangerous. Measures to ensure survival should be the primary consideration. Call 000 [Triple Zero] in an Emergency. A new FIRE BAN DAY has been declared for 24 hours commencing 5 am Thursday 2 October 2014. No person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory lying within the VERNON Fire Protection Zone and the DARWIN Emergency Response Area.
