1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 1Ti 2:4 WHO WILL have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ***** I often hear people ask, what is Gods will for me? There you have it; Gods will is that you get saved, friend! If youre not saved, you need to get saved; RIGHT NOW! All that is required is FAITH in what Christ did for you at the Cross. Christ died for YOUR SINS, friend! He died for every one of them. NO religious ceremony, or no religious priest or pastor can take your sins away. In any case, back to Gods will. I remember a person saying to me a few years back while her and her lover were plotting to leave their respective spouses, that she thought it was Gods will that they met, since they each fulfilled a void in each others life. I told her then, and I would tell them now; that IS NOT GODS WILL, that is your sinful will! For some reason, I have been around quite a few family and friends during divorces and affairs and the such. Usually it is ungrounded believers with no understanding of Gods Word thinking that this new person is the answer to all their prayers. But it is NOT GODS will to leave a marriage simple because you lost those feelings. Gods will in fact, is that you stay in your marriage and demonstrate the love of Christ to the world. Some noted verses on the subject: 1Th 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us HOW YE OUGHT TO WALK and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 1Th 4:2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 1Th 4:3 For this is THE WILL OF GOD, even your sanctification, that YE SHOULD ABSTAIN FROM FORNICATION: 1Th 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 1Th 4:5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 1Th 4:6 That NO MAN GO BEYOND AND DEFRAUD HIS BROTHER IN ANY MATTER: because that THE LORD IS THE AVENGER OF ALL SUCH, as we also have forewarned you and testified. 1Th 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 1Th 4:8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit. ******** Gods will for the Christian is to NOT DEFRAUD his brother/sister in the Lord IN ANY MATTER! Leaving your spouse for another believers wife/husband is NOT Gods will, that is YOUR OWN SINFUL WILL. Some even suppose that since we are under grace and not under the law, that we can just do whatever we want and God will just accept us like that, but the verse above debunks that heresy. NOTICE: 1Th 4:6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that THE LORD IS THE AVENGER OF ALL SUCH, as we also have forewarned you and testified. *** It is true that once a person is saved they are saved forever. You cannot lose your salvation, so this avenging of the Lord for believers cannot be damnation in the Lake of Fire. It must then be loss of reward at the Judgment Seat of Christ, where all believers in the dispensation of grace will give an account to Christ as to their service for him, or lack, thereof! Rom 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? FOR WE SHALL ALL STAND BEFORE THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST. Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, and EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS TO GOD. Rom 14:12 So then EVERY ONE OF US shall give ACCOUNT OF HIMSELF to God. *********** I get tired of teachers sugar coating the clear teaching of scripture, but they do and will continue to do so, that Im sure of! Lets look at what we know Gods will IS FOR US TODAY! WE already looked at one: 1Th 4:3 For this is THE WILL OF GOD, even your sanctification, that YE SHOULD ABSTAIN FROM FORNICATION: **** Another: 1Th 5:18 In every thing GIVE THANKS: for THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD in Christ Jesus concerning you. **** The every thing goes without saying that it is in the context of godly living and godly edification; NOT living for yourselves and for our own sinful pleasures! Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, WILL OF GOD. ***** Here then are some more examples of the will of God for believers. 1) Present our bodies a living sacrifice to God. 2) Be not conformed to this world. 3) Be transformed by the renewing of our minds. ---this is done by studying the Word of God rightly divided. By having Gods Word become our thoughts throughout the day! 4) the result--we will prove, or test what is that perfect, good and acceptable WILL OF GOD! **** If you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, we have just shown from Gods Word that it is Gods will for you to be saved! Christ did all the work for you; he paid for all of your sins with his own blood. Christ was buried and then God raised him from the dead! Put your faith in Christs death, burial and resurrection for your salvation and God will save you right now! Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
