2014 Deals for Silhouette Pen Holder. Explore deals at bit.ly/NuSB9p. I purchased this pen holder not having any idea how to use it. I also purchased a set of the Silhouette Sketch Pen Starter Kit. It couldnt have been more simple. I simply changed out the Silhouette blade and inserted the pen holder and then inserted a marker. The marker kit came with a coupon for 10 sketch downloads from the Silhouette website so you can get started with a drawing right away. Within minutes I had figured out how to use the pen and then cut out my design. Very simple and very cool!I use this with mostly any pen around the house. For better results I suggest putting the pen so that only a small amount of the tip is exposed, if you put it all the way it will leave a streak.I dont know if I got a defective pen holder or what but it takes an incredible amount of pressure just to get the holder itself into place.The silhouette pens just slip right in.This holder goes in easily less than halfway.I dont dare to use it again for fear of breaking or damaging the casing that holds it. And with all the adjustments you have to make to get your pen situated correctly on top of the chore of getting it in and put I have to give this a "fail."This product is alright. It is all plastic and isnt very sturdy. I am very careful with it when I use it, especially not to over-tighten the screws. I was very disappointed by how limited this product is. I was hoping to use a wide range of writing materials with it, but the plastic is so thick and made in such a way that only thin pens will fit in it. I cant even get some of my thin markers to fit. Youre pretty much stuck to thin ball point pens, regular pencils, and thin gel pens. I will be upgrading to some of these tools very soon: [ ... ]Also, the advice about using a Popsicle stick underneath before locking the holder in place was GREAT for getting the correct height for your pens and not leaving extra lines all over your paper.
