24-Hour Public Weather Forecast Issued at: 5:00 PM 03 October 2014 SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 pm today, the Eye of Typhoon “NENENG” (PHANFONE) was located at 1330 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (23.6˚N, 134.4˚E), with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 20 kph. FORECAST: Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the province of Palawan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over the Northern and Eastern sections of Luzon and coming from the West and Southwest over the Eastern section of Visayas and of Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast to Northwest over the rest of Luzon and coming from the Southwest over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.
