#2623 1/9/2015 23:43:21 Note : Hope so its certainly mind boggling Im a female 18, last year on a weekend in Guwahati, I got plenty of cash from my parents and other acquaintance. Me and my brother planned for a dinner at KFC but before that I took a break from the KFC site cause first I wanted to stash my money in my hotel room so that it feels safe and I can start my fooding without a prick of worries. I told my brother that Ill be right back and well go out to eat after that. I carried the notes laden bag to the hotel and as I was about to walk into the lift ,I noticed two men already abroad. Both of them were nearly of same height. One of them was all grossed up with a bit long and shabby hair .And the other one had intimidating figure . I frozed . My first thought was : these two are going to rob me . My next thought was dont be a bigot, they look like perfectly nice gentleman . But still racial stereotypes are now powerful and fear immobilised me . I firstly stood and stare at them.I felt anxious ,flustered and ashamed. I just hoped they didnt read my mind. but it seemed, surely they knew my hesitation about joining them in the lift ,it was all too obvious. My face was flushed completely red.I couldnt just stand there so with a mighty effort of will,I picked up one foot and stepped forward and followed with the other foot and was on the lift. Tragedy strikes after that . Avoiding eye contact I turned around stiffly and faced the lifts door as they closed. A second passed and then another second and then another. My fear increased ! The lift didnt move. Panic consumed me. All in my head was that my god,Im trapped and about to be robbed and rape :( My heart plummeted. perspiration poured from every pore. Suddenly.......................... one of the men said, HIT THE FLOOR. My instinct told me:do what they tell you. According I lift my foot in the air and as panic as mice ,Stumped my foot so hard on the lifts floor that all the coins I had in my sweatshirts pocket flew upwards and shower of coins rained down on me. At that moment all I could think of was take my money and spared me. I prayed silently. More seconds passed ,the lift didnt moved.and then I heard one of the guy say politely Girl ,if you just tell us what floor youre going to, well push the button . The one who said it had a little trouble getting the words out. He was trying mightily to hold in a belly laugh. I could figure that out. God knows why I was so panic stricken. I lifted my head at that moment and looked up at that two guys. They reached down to help me. Confused, I struggled to my feet and then the long hair guy explained when I told my man here to hit the floor, I meant that he should hit the elevator button for our floor. I didnt mean for you to hit the floor . He spoke genially. He bit his lips. It was obvious he was having a hard time not laughing. I was about to collapse at that moment for the fun I made of myself . My god !! what a spectacle Ive made of my image. I was too humiliated to speak. I wanted to blurt out an apology but words failed me. How am I suppose to apologize to two perfectly respectable gentlemen for behaving as though they were going to rob and rape . It was a shame on me and my thoughts . I didnt know what to say . We then gathered up the coins and refilled my pocket. when the lift arrived at my floor they insisted on walking me t my room cause became little unsteady on my feet, they might have thought that I might not make it down the corridor. At my door, they bid me a goodnight . As I slipped into my hotel room, I could hear them roaring with laughter while they walked back to the elevator . It funny in a way and disgusting in other way. Though I brushed it off. I pulled my together and went downstairs for dinner with my brother. The next morning ,during tea time, a chit and a card were delivered to my room. As I read the chit said : THANKS FOR THE BEST LAUGH WEVE HAD IN YEARS and in card downward it was signed, MAGDALENE. My brother that day said MAGDALENE is a reputed band of Mizoram. Well I had no idea still today like whats going on !! Admin2: I love Magdalene!! 😂😂😂 And girl ,dont judge a book by its cover next time. Tc.
