45 years ago tonight a friend of mine Bob Kemmer and mineself were driving up for a long weekend in Montreal. We left after work and drove all night. The big news item was how The Woodstock Festival was drawing much larger the expected crowds and folks were already having to park 4 miles away and trek in. At one point we were only about 45 miles away from the event and the questions was raised if we should bag Montreal and go to Woodstock. I remember saying not wanting to go as I had packed for a visit to a metropolitan city not a free for all concert. And so we continued driving north into the night, away from one of the pivotal events of our age. And every year since, about this time, Im always speculating What if?
