4th Annual End of Summer Wiffle Ball Tournament Dear Fellow Wiffle Ballers, I am sending this email out to formally invite you to sign up for the 4th Annual END OF SUMMER WIFFLE BALL TOURNAMENT. This is a competitive wiffle ball tournament that will be accompanied by a BBQ at my house. I know that many of you participated in years past and had a great time. We have worked hard to make some adjustments to make the tournament even better this year. We are having this event a little earlier, so things like registration will have to be done at a little bit faster pace. Please make sure you read all the information below if you are interested in playing (especially about registering). Specific information about the event is listed below: Date: Saturday, August 23, 2014 Time: 11:30 PM team check-in - 12:05 PM Game 1 first pitch Tournament will take place throughout the day Place: 111 N Stone Ridge Dr. Lansdale, PA 19446 (BBQ at house - Wiffle Ball field in Hourglass Park directly behind my house) Tournament: Double Elimination * Teams will be randomly selected and announced the week of August 11 Registration: $25/person * Registration includes Team T-Shirt, Championship Trophy, food, beer, and wiffle ball costs. Registration Deadline: Friday, August 8, 2014 Rules Overview: - 3 Players per Team (1 pitcher and 2 outfielders) - 5 inning games - Four ball - Two strike count - Unlimited Pitching (you can throw as hard or soft as you want) - Each team member must pitch at least one of the first three innings - No Base Running (Field will consist of zones for singles, doubles, triples, and home run fence) - Runs are scored when ghost runners are forced in - We will be using the TARGET for the strike zone, a 30 inches high by 20 inches wide metal plate, 12 inches off the ground. - Field Dimensions - Pitchers Mound: 40 ft - Doubles Line: 45 ft - Triples Line: 65 ft - Home Run Line: 95 ft Registration for this tournament will be on a first come first serve basis. If you do not register before the deadline, you will not be permitted to play. The amount of players will be capped at 8 teams or 24 players. You may forward this to anybody that may be interested in playing (remember the teams will be randomly selected). HOW TO REGISTER: If you want to register for the tournament, please send me an e-mail entitled WIFFLE BALL REGISTRATION, which includes your T-shirt size. Again, the deadline to register is August 8. This email is specifically about the Wiffle Ball Tournament. As far as the BBQ goes, all families/children are invited. Leslie and I will be sending out an Evite shortly to anyone who has attended previously or has expressed interest in attending this year.
