“6. ...he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORDS anointed is before him. 7. But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him...” (1 Samuel 16: 6, 7). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. When Samuel went to Jesses home, he saw Eliab and proclaimed that he was the Lord’s anointed. David was Gods choice, but Samuel proclaimed someone else as God’s anointed. David was chosen by God, but the man in charge was about to choose someone else instead of David. After Samuel’s proclamation, God interrupted him and announced that Eliab was rejected. Samuels words were against Davids emergence, and God made him withdraw it. Samuel was the final human authority in the matter, but when he endorsed Eliab instead of David, God interrupted him. Friend, are there men who have spoken words against you? Are there people who have made rules against your interests? Are there people who have made declarations that will stop your progress? Are there men who want to divert what is yours to others? Today, every proclamation against you will be divinely interrupted. Every man that has spoken against your interest will be compelled by God to withdraw his words; when men say you are not qualified, God will compel them to change their words; when they say you wont be chosen, God will cause them to reverse their confession. David didnt know that someone else was endorsed to take a position God destined for him. You may not know the words that are spoken against you, but God knows, and He will compel every tongue that has spoken against you to start speaking for you. Lamentations 3: 37 reassures further; it says: “Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?” Pray With Me: Lord, interrupt every tongue speaking against me; they will reverse their words, in Jesus’ name!
