6yrs ago today my first child was born. Alexander is basically the only reason Im alive. Im well aware of that fact. A lot of things had a tight grip on my life. So today I say Happy Birthday my boy, and thank you. Daddy loves you and I know right where Id be if it wasnt for you. On someones mantle. My son will never realize just how much he means to me. But, I always will. Ill never forget the day he made that little red line appear on that test, the first time i heard his little heartbeat, the day he came out as a tiny little preemie, his first steps, his first tooth, his first word, and so and so on......times have been so rough for us the last two years that birthdays have kind of been small. Whether it was me having surgery the day before, or the fact we were just too damn broke. Now, this year weve gone and moved away from his family and have hit a few bumps in the road here as well. But, the place is decorated, gifts are bought & wrapped, and Ill be goddamned if my child doesnt enjoy his birthday! I can only hope he feels special on his birthday and knows how special he is as well. Cause this kid has been through hell and disappointment and he deserves nothing but happiness.
