70 degrees outside. My Too Hot for Spot thermometer said 105 degrees inside my van when I came out of the grocery. Heard a puppy barking, went to investigate and sure enough, a little Shih Tzu in a vehicle, tongue hanging out, windows not even cracked. I go back into the store and scream for the owner of the car with the puppy (its a small store.) Even the checker gal asked for the owner to come to the front of the store on their pa system - no one did. Another lady joined me as we waited, monitoring the little dog. It seemed like forever though it was probably only about five minutes. As it turned out, it was an OLD man. When I told him his little dog was distressed and it was too hot to leave him in the car he simply said oh, hell be ok. No sir, he wont! When its 70 degrees and sunny outside, you need to leave him at home and I handed him one of my hot car flyers that I grabbed out of my glove box. He took it - I walked away with my blood boiling - but he sat there in his vehicle for a while, hopefully reading and comprehending. Sadly, too many people just dont realize the danger. Ok, rant over for today.
