8 Months Pregnant; The eighth month of pregnancy is the time when your baby grows at a very fast rate. Your baby is now almost developed; all organs have formed, except the lungs which continue to develop. The growth of the brain takes with a proper pace and so you will experience more kicking than before. The baby may have settled upside down but may change position again. Due to the restriction of space, here will be lesser movements and as a result, your baby will gain a couple of pounds by the end of this month. Generally the baby weighs about 5 pounds. The baby is getting ready to get born. Your babys eyes have begun to work properly, and will start blinking. The fetus is more sensitive to light and sound. The pupils in his eyes dilate in response to light. He opens and closes his eyes frequently. The bones are getting stronger. The bone marrow is producing red blood cells this month. The arms and legs start to lengthen now. You can notice the changes that take place in the breasts during the eighth month of pregnancy. The breast besides being tender also becomes enlarged by this time. In most of the cases the woman will experience a considerable amount of growth in the breasts throughout the pregnancy. Your breasts will respond to you being pregnant by changing in preparation for breastfeeding. Your nipples may become larger and darker as your pregnancy progresses. The tissues inside the breast are preparing for nursing. Towards the end of this month some women may find that their breasts leak a golden color fluid called colostrum.
