A Little Work… A Little Play I have to go to the Midwest for work next week. I’ll be there four days. My days will be very full with training, but I’m hoping I have some time (and energy) left for the evenings. I’ve never been to this city and am looking forward to checking out the sights. Of course, my first obligation is to my work, but whenever I’m out of town, I try to take in some of the sights and meet the locals. I always have a great time. This time I’m bringing my dance shoes. I’ve scouted a couple of places to do Argentine Tango and West Coast Swing, and have found that when people know you’re from out of town they go out of their way to show you a good time. I’ve rented a car and received some suggestions for great places to listen to some jazz, so I’m excited to get out and do some exploring and mingling. I think it’s important to mix pleasure with your business. You don’t have to go out of town to do it either. We all work hard and are tired at the end of the day, but a little extra effort can provide great rewards and remind you about what’s important in life. Life isn’t all about work. It’s about living. I work just enough to be comfortable, the rest is for enjoyment…. Even better if you enjoy your work!
