A MARRIED WOMANS REACTION TO HER HUSBANDS INFIDELITY: Ive often come across situations whereby fellow women condemn a married woman for confronting the Other Woman and tell her to deal with her husband instead. Now,heres my take based on both observation and personal experience: The marital bond is a mystery in that when two people marry, they become one. Hence, its very difficult for a wife to view her own husband as the enemy, regardless of whatever wrong theyve done. She may admonish him,or even insult, in the privacy of their home but never show it to outsiders. Therefore, the other woman i viewed as the enemy. Besides, it is the duty of every woman to turn down the advances of a married man coz we all know men are hunters by nature. Believe you me, if the Other Woman says NO and stands by it, an extramarital affair can never flourish. Now, upon discovery of the affair, a wifes instinctive reaction is to protect both her marriage and her family. She confronts the other woman hoping theyll stay away,be it out of fear,pity,sympathy; anything as long as they just stay away. Besides, the pain of betrayal blinds her to any reason, and her initial reaction is purely emotional and spontaneous. Of course with time, she realises its not worth it and decides to either leave and move on or resign herself to fate. So, my advice to my fellow women is: never be too quick to judge or condemn a wifes reaction to such,unless youve lived their life, felt their pain and been in their mind (which is impossible anyway). And even if youve been in a similar situation before and reacted differently, remember that were all wired differently and hence react to situations differently. If youve never even experienced the same before, its even worse because when it happens to you, you may find yourself reacting the same way,or even worse. Therefore, approach such situation with empathy for your fellow woman and do not be too quick to condemn, for you never know what tomorrow holds.
