A SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF A LIBERATOR OF OUR TIME: COMRADE KAMAR ABUBAKAR It’s quite obvious that the wealth a man acquires or the number of days a man spends on earth is not important, but the lives he touches positively. Here is a brief history of a prudent manager of resources, an energetic, intelligent, vibrant, handsome and forward looking young man Alh. Hon. Comrade Kamar Abubakar known as the (LIBERATOR). This youth advocates and he is a voice to the voiceless. Comrade Kamar Abubakar was born in Onah, Igala-Ogba Ward of Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State on the 25th February, 1978 into the family of Alh. Abubakar Sadiq and Hajiya Danjana Sani. He is happily married with three kids; (I) Ahmed Kamar (Ii) Kamar Kamar Junior (Iii) Abdulhakeem Kamar Our humble and dynamic Comrade, had his primary education at Federal Polytechnic Staff School, Idah from 1988-1993. He sat for West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in 2006 and came out in flying colours. The Dynamic and ever working Comrade Kamar Abubakar proceeded to the prestigious Federal Polytechnic Idah where he bagged his National Diploma in Public Administration in 2008. Desirous of more academic Laurels and zeal to excel, the great philanthropist and ever working Comrade Kamar Abubakar proceeded to Kogi State Polytechinc Lokoja where he bagged his Higher National Diploma in Public Administration in 2012. Comrade Kamar Abubakar because of his selfless service to humanity was appointed by Idah Local Government Council as supervisory councilor for works & Housing in 2008-2010 under the Leadership of Comrade Haruna Idoko Musa (HIM). In 2010, Comrade Kamar Abubakar was appointed by Kogi State Government as Chairman Ad-Hoc committee on project monitoring from office of the Special Assistant on Youths Empowerment to the Executive Governor of Kogi State to monitor and supervise the renovations of Government Hospitals and Government Secondary Schools across the 21 Local Government in Kogi State. The Liberator; Comrade Kamar Abubakar contested under the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the seat of Kogi State House of Assembly representing Idah constituency in 2011 but lost out in the primaries. The Dynamic and Youths advocate; Comrade Kamar Abubakar, due to his quest and crusade for peace and youths development in Kogi State earned an appointment from Kogi State Government as Special Assistant to the Executive Governor on youths & Sports Development in 2011-2012. As a prudent manager of resources, Comrade Kamar Abubakar a private organization where he is CEO/Chairman respectively KAMBUBAK NIG. ENTERPRISES, KAMBUBAK ENTERPRISES NIG. LIMITED and KAMAR EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR ORPHANS. Comrade Kamar Abubakar, whose quest to eradicate youths’ restiveness has headed many youthful organizations with the aim of fostering peace & unity among the youths. To mention but a few: (1) Onah Youths Development Association as Ag President from 2004-2005. 2). The Great Igala Boys 2006-2007, As President. (3) Idah Concern Youths As Co-ordinator from 2007-2009, where some youths were able to buy assets on their own. (4). Kogi Patriotic Youths Movement As President from 2009 till date. (5). Idah National Youths Network As President from2009 till date. This crusader of peace initiated an atmosphere where youths of various political parties in Idah Local Government came under one umbrella known as Idah National Youths Network with the aim of eradicating violence within the political parties. Since the launch of Idah National Youth Network in 2009, the organization under the leadership of Comrade Kamar Abubakar has been able to combat violence recorded in elections conducted after the inauguration of the organization. The organization serves as a meeting point for youths of various political party to discuss the future of her youths and why the youths must say NO to violence; as violence has nothing to fetch any one but destroy the future and generations to come. This young man has been an advocate of peace and a liberator at any given opportunity. In his quest to assist the youths and the less privileged, with the little opportunity he had, he was able to secure jobs at Federal, State and Local Government for some youths. Such as Nigeria Navy, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Customs Service, Immigration, Civil Defence and Nigeria Police Force. Others are in Kogi State Civil service and Local Government Civil Service. He was able to achieve all these through his boss; Alh. Ibrahim Idris, The Former Executive Governor of Kogi State. Comrade Kamar Abubakar was not just a member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but also a financier. He has donated cash, motorcycles to both his ward and Idah Local Government chapterof the party. He has donated a lot of motorcycles to some youths of Idah and some organizations such as motorcycle Transit Union Association, Idah Chapter, Idah national Youth Network, e.t.c. Donation of cash to widows and the less privileged, six years Scholarship to 20 orphans across the ten wards in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, of which the ones in public schools were moved to private nursery and primary schools. This energetic philanthropist and also a footballer who has played for Ofu United F.C in 1997, Ajaokuta F.C 1998, Kogi United, 1999, FCDA Abuja 2000 and Idah United as first choice Goalkeeper from 2001-2003. In his quest for youths and sports development, Comrade Kamar Abubakar has a football academy known as Kamar Football Academy Idah. These football Academy has four categories of players which are: U-10, U-12, U-13, U-16. Kamar football Academy was the first and only private team from Idah Local Government that has participated in Nation-Wide League known as State League. It is the only private team in Idah that have traveled for national friendly matches to places like Lagos, Edo, Abuja, etc Kamar Football Academy has produced young star players both for Idah United F.C, National Team and Nigeria Premier League; The likes of Enemi Justice Umoru who is currently playing for Bukola F.C in Kwara State and Abbas Ibrahim who has played for Nigerian national U-14 team at London. Presently, Kamar Football Academy has four U-13 Players at FOSLA FOOTBALL ACADEMY ABUJA which is affiliated to Arsenal Football Club London. All these track records of achievement in youths and sports development earned Comrade Kamar Abubakar an award of excellence which was conferred on him by Idah Youths Sports Forum as the sport Ambassador of the year 2013. Our good people of Idah, with every sincerity in our hearts, is this gentle, humble, vibrant, energetic young man with these record of achievements within the given opportunity he had, not eligible to represent the good people of Idah Local Government at the State House of Assembly Come 2015?
