A Short Nonfictional Story, by Robert Clay Myers Junior: This is a personal story of how one man destroyed many aspects of my life, which resulted in me, and my family being confused and hurt very badly. Let me expand upon a few facts from my life. The lack of heart in the matter came directly from John David Lutz, whos official title was Department Chair of the Theater at The University of Evansville. He made all of the final decisions when it came to the theater department at the college. It turned out that he also was a tyrant, that made selfish and bad decisions, which caused great damage to my life. I truly believe he was jealous of me, because I was a more talented actor and director than he was. I believe that his anger and actions, which were directed towards me resulted in: 1. My wasted undergraduate education. 2. My time in unnecessary years of therapy. 3. My confused parents, who did not understand what really went on after sending their son away to supposedly get an education. And 4. My misdiagnosis with a mental illness. Unfortunately, I was the one to suffer, because my potential and aspirations were handicapped for something that was beyond my control. John David Lutz, wanted to run the show at any cost. The fact is: I was paying to get an education, not be moved around on a chess board for his entertainment in the plays he directed. Johns jealousy and lack of empathy cuts to the heart of why he personally set up my exit from the school. I had a heart, was honest, cared about my family, told the truth, was innovative and care deeply about our (the students) education in the theater and beyond. He by his actions clearly did not. Before this whole thing started I had initially want to go to NYU, where I got accepted into Practical Aesthetics School, but my parents cared more about saving money than my education. Which ended up, unfortunately, being a problem for me and them. The result was a bad education from the theater department at Evansville, where I was way under utilized. For the likes of worse actors such as Nathan Darrow, who got most of the male leads in the plays. I found this funny because most of the time in his performances he did not listen to other actors and pontificated when the lights shown upon him. The Literature Department, which included International Film, American Literature and Feminist Studies was the highlight of my experience in Evansville. But, my overall highlight had nothing to do with Evansville, and everything to do with Harlaxton College, United Kingdom. There I was able to travel, see the design of beautiful cities and the best art/music/theater/dance in the world. Unfortunately, I returned to Evansville where a horrible mans actions screwed up my life for many years. I survived.
