Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Manchester United occupy the Europa League places, with Newcastle United, Southampton and Aston Villa rounding out the top half. The Asian Champions League qualifying has kicked off overnight in Pune, India, with Vietnams Hanoi T&T moving through to the next round with a 3-0 over Pune FC. They will now meet Thailand club Muangthong United, with the winner on 8 February to face Melbourne Victory at Simonds Stadium on 15 February to qualify for the group stages. Former Brisbane Roar striker James Meyer came on as a substitute for Pune, while former Mariners and Victory youngster Sam Gallagher was named man of the match and scored for Hanoi T&T.
