A few days ago a couple in Pensacola had ther Escambia County Sheriffs officers crawl through a window in their home with no search warrant or cause. They dragged the couple out of their bedroom into the hallway and put them on the floor. Then one officer went back into the bedroom and shot both of their Pitbull dogs who remained in their bedroom who showed no aggresion! One was killed the other wounded. The Sheriffs office did nothing to the officers. Our sherrifs office has been under scrutiny for years. My home was entered by 3 Escambia County Deputy Sheriff officers last year without a warrant or warning one evening while I lay in my rear bedroom recoverying asleep from a recent knee replacement surgery. I heard voices in my hallway which woke me up. They came into my bedroom without any warnings with guns and their first question was where are the dogs? I was heavily medicated and surprised. One officer told me to show my hands and asked me again where are my dogs. I told them my daughter had taken them to Blackwater river in Milton. Then they asked if I lived here and demanded proof. I crawled out of bed and limped over to the officer by my bedroom door to show him my drivers liscense limping with only my shorts on. I asked him why they were in my home. He claimed they had received a report of suspision of foul play was called in. They left so fast that before I got to my front door to question them more they were gone. My neighbors who witnessed the whole thing were outside and asked me what happened. They told me to file a complaint to the sherrifs office but I knew better. I have lived in Pensacola for 45 years. I have worked on two past Sherrifs homes and went to school with many other deputies homes I worked on. If my dogs had been home and my gun which was in the other room had been by my bed it would have been far worse. Knowing my daughter was in Milton and my gun beside me my dogs would have warned me that someone was at the door or in my home would wake me up. I would have called them back from the door and would have started down the hallway to check out the warning. I knew they wouldnt bark at my daughter and her friends because they knew them. If they came in my home with guns drawn my dogs are trained to DEFEND me and my Family. If they see a weapon or gun in someones hand even mine. they were trained to defend.If someone in the dark starts shooting at my dogs in my home without first declaring they were with the sherrifs office I would open fire on anyone that came to view without hesitation. My dogs would be dead, I would be dead and a couple officers would be dead or injured. Maybe I should have reported it. Our sherrifs office has been under much scrutiny for years. I live in a very bad neighberhood. If you need an officer of the law it takes them a long time to reach me. Their are some good officers and some bad as in every walk of life. Where will it end or be corrected? What happened to Serve and Protect?
