A few months ago, Baltimore running back Ray Rice was caught on tape dragging his fiance by the hair, then hitting her with his fist. And this week he was given a two-game suspension for this act. The free pass these men are given time after time is only contributing to the culture of violence and rape that still isnt taken as seriously as it should be in our country. I am just one tiny little ant in the massive mountain that is professional sports, but after being a life-long football fan, and becoming increasingly disgusted with the way the people who run this sport deal with issues of domestic violence and rape, Ive finally reached the point where Im going to boycott this sport. I know this isnt a significant act in the overall scheme of things, but I am no longer willing to be complicit in this by watching this sport.
