A friend of mine has a cage for sale and Im thinking about getting it but I wanted a few opinions first. Its 47x29x24 and shes asking $40, which I think is reasonable. Im concerned about a couple of things though. Its made from some sort of coated wire. My girls arent big chewers but if they do chew on it will it be an issue? The cage is manufactured for pets but I have no idea by who or what model. Im also worried about the metal tray at the bottom. The cage sits inside of it, but its pretty rusted looking. Is there something I can line it with that will be effective, or should I look into replacing it entirely? There are also only two wire shelves. What is the best way to line the shelves and make ramps? The cage is very similar to this picture but with two doors and a metal tray that doesnt slide out; to clean it I would have to pick up the (lightweight) cage out of the tray. Thanks!
