A message from our sports coordinator, Mr Beacroft: Towards the end of Term 3, three of our students represented the NSWCCC Softball team at the NSW All Schools Competition. Hayden Little (Year 11), Joshua Ryan (Year 11) and Thomas Cass (Year 9), all played with distinction and pride. This team is open to Year 12 students, so all of these boys showed tremendous skill to be selected at a younger age. During the holidays, The Devine sisters competed in the Irish Dancing National Championships in Canberra. Annie (Year 9) performed extremely well to finish in 15th position which is a tremendous achievement. Maggie (Year 10) danced exceptionally to finish Runner Up in her Age Group. To be placed 2nd in Australia is a fantastic achievement. Both girls are fine ambassadors for their sport and the College. Ex student Caitlin Devine (Year 12 in 2013) finished 6th in her Age Group to complete a fantastic trifecta for this talented family! Also in the holidays, Jared Sherlock (Year 11) competed in the National Gaelic Football Championships in Melbourne with the NSW team. Jared played extremely well, with his team finishing 3rd, having lost the semi final to South Australia by a single point. At the conclusion of the championships, Jared was selected into the Australian Merit team, who will hopefully be playing games in 2015. Congratulations Jared on a wonderful achievement! Congratulations to all McCarthy teams who played in the Term 3 PDSSSC Competitions. McCarthy entered 9 teams into different competitions and the results are below. Oz Tag Junior Boys - Champions Intermediate Boys - Champions Junior Girls - Champions Intermediate Girls - 5th Place Futsal Junior Boys- Champions Intermediate Boys- Champions Junior Girls- Runners Up Intermediate Girls- Champions Ultimate Frisbee Girls- Champions Congratulations McCarthy students and Coaches on winning 7 out of 9 competitions, with a Runners Up and also a 5th place!!
