A most pleasant soirée hosted on Friday by the British Consul here. The event was marred only by a crass British journalist, intent on inflicting views of the Motherland on a group of delightful Burkinabe models. Language was kept within acceptable limits, but they will now know that Prince Andrew is a complete tosser, while brother Edward is a loser, but both are nothing compared to the Godawful Mark Thatcher. The British public still loves Pippa’s backside, but she can’t write for toffee. Victoria Beckham dances like a giraffe and was the least talented of the Spice Girls, and a bit of a cow to boot. Rod Stewart fared better, “great talent, but lost it amidst all those blondes and cocaine”. Hopes of becoming a cultural attaché one day have receded again.
