A new Vancouver Island restaurant is planning to pay their staff - TopicsExpress

A new Vancouver Island restaurant is planning to pay their staff higher wages -- and will not be accepting tips! The plan is to pay servers between $20 - $24 an hour and back-of-house employees between $16 - $18 an hour. The restaurant will also offer employees medical and dental coverage. Menu prices will seem higher, but there will be no tipping. And if customers do leave tips, they will be returned or donated to a local charity. What do you think? Should more restaurants follow their lead? Would you support a business like this? Or do you prefer having the option to tip? ~Bri Cook
