A part of my patter with Olan Mills Photography Studio I used to - TopicsExpress

A part of my patter with Olan Mills Photography Studio I used to repeat the old saying, ”a picture is worth a thousand words”. Having worked in Moving Pictures and family portraits for most of my life, I find”…… a thousand words” is a very low estimate of the value of a captured image. All of us know, through Face Book, a picture is priceless. I could sit here and type until Christ returns and the world as we know it is ended; I could never capture one expression in a face. I am telling my story because I have had others try to tell it for me, but they lack the details. Even I do not remember all the details and if I could, it is as God tells us about His Son: John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen. As it is with the life of Christ, so it is with us all. Face Book is priceless. I use to joke with my Niece, Louise Padgett, that it was just another version of the Jerry Springer Show. I foolishly thought it was just a gossip mill. My thoughts were based upon the details of something I knew nothing about. So it is with people. Through Face Book, I have found a family I had lost touch with. God brought us together through adversity and through adversity, we lost touch. Linda , Mike, Freddie and then there was Shanna, then there was Brad. More have come along, I have yet to meet. We shared a home, work and friendship. There was not a thought in my heart or mind that I could not share with Linda. We toyed with the thought of a Las Vegas quickie. I had showed her the ropes there as I had visited and worked in Vegas. Thank God, we were only kidding. As our lives turned out, it would have been the worst possible scenario. There was only one other friend in my life with whom I trusted all that was in the immensity of my density, George Berkeley. God blessed me with the right to perform his Eulogy in Beverly Hills , California. A few years before His wife, Shirley, had passed. Shirley had worked for a Talent Agency and was the greatest blessing in George’s life as she worked to free him to explore his passion which all of the world knew was The Theatre. Present was his daughter, Stephanie, his sons David and Joey. Present also were the rich and famous of Theatre and the Movie Industry as well as many of the unknowns such as himself, who spent their whole life seeking to inform and entertain the world. findagrave/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6691002 For the Eulogy I was drawn to use a scripture I discovered later, was a scripture used to reach the unbeliever, the agnostic and those seeking the love of God. This was the choir to whom God was preaching. Acts 17:23 -31 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of theirhabitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
