A quick lesson in municipal politics for yall: In Canada, mayors are directly elected. This means that a mayor cannot be impeached, or kicked out of office. He or she must choose to step down, be arrested by the police (fyi, smoking crack a year ago isnt an offense one can be arrested for), or be asked to leave by the Premier for a very specific reason. At this point, an appointee will be chosen as a replacement, or a by-election will be called, which in the case of the city of Toronto, would cost somewhere around 9 million dollars. ...and now you know.
