I saw my Uncle run on water in an Osage County farm pond 3. I saw the Easter Bunny in the hallway of my house on Easter Eve night. 4. I have seen or heard 5 tornado funnels. 5. I preached my first sermon in Turley at age 17 using a text from Abbie Hoffman. 6. I wrote for an underground newspaper in Tulsa when I was 16. 7. I published a book of poetry when I was 18. 8. I sparred with a world boxing champion. 9. I impersonated, pretty convincingly, a Secret Service Agent. 10. I wanted to be an astrophysicist and gave a scientific presentation to a ladies group at age 10. I wanted in high school to be a chemist but couldnt/cant understand moles (good thing since at the same age I considered myself a communist --it was 1969 and I had just read In Dubious Battle. 11. I sold encyclopedias door to door and ended up in jail in Fayetteville AR because of it (never officially arrested). 12. I was a subject in a lead story on the front page of the Tulsa Tribune when I was in college. (not related to number 11) 13. I was a superhero known as Lightning Man. 14. I read War and Peace at age 15 almost in one continuous reading. 15. I invented a board game. 16. I participated in Oklahomas first gay rights protest; also picketed at my wifes college graduation. 17: I was the first male in a leadership position in the state NOW and AAUW and OU Medical Wives Assoc. 18. I came close to applying for law school; came close to working as a Republican political operative in Oklahoma (back when there were moderates in power); and was accepted into a Ph.D. in English program but decided against; came close to applying for a Ph.D. in Biblical Interpretation; was recruited by Oral Roberts University to be a part of their Doctorate in Ministry program. 19. Led a March for Jesus down North Peoria Ave (at 17). 20. Have been part of Methodist churches, Mormon churches, Bahai community, but Unitarian Universalist since I was 20. Scratching the surface..
