A special message to all my friends in and from Southern California and anyone who has a loved one buried at Eden Cemetery in The San Fernando Valley: I am both saddened and outraged about the desecration of many of the graves at Eden Cemetery. I live on The East Coast and just became aware of the unthinkable activity that Eden has been involved with for many, many years. Both my Mom, Dad, Aunt and Uncle are buried there and Im sure many of you have loved ones there as well. When we laid our parents to rest, my Brother and I expected and believed that Mom and Dad would be safe in their final resting place. But based on what I have recently read, that could not have been further from the truth. Eden committed unspeakable acts on this hallowed ground and anyone who either has buried a loved one there or who plans on doing so in the future should be outraged. I also learned that there was a class action law suit filed against Eden and its parent company and that suit was settled for a specific sum of money. I understand that the law firm that handled the case for family members is seeking an outrageous fee (way above normal) that will leave the victims with bitterness and anger. Apparently anyone who feels they have a claim against Eden has until June 5th, 2014 to opt into the settlement and if people are already involved in the suit they have until May 6, 2014 to opt out of the settlement. It is my firm opinion after exploring the facts that the settlement is not fair and is unjust. My Brother and I will explore and exercise our rights in this devastating situation. I am writing this on Facebook to see if any of my friends who unfortunately find themselves in the same situation would like to join us in our pursuit of justice. Even if you are already part of the existing settlement we should talk. This is unfair and most importantly destroys everything we thought about how Eden treated our loved ones.
