A strong core/abs is your foundation! The main purpose of your core is to stabilize the spine and prevent it from buckling under pressure. And when you are in good condition they can look pretty cool too! Lol I like to constantly vary my core/abs workouts to include calisthenics, weighted abs exercise, body weight, use of machines, sometimes I will work a quadrant of my abs (upper, lower, obliques, serratus) sometimes low rep, sometimes high rep just depends!
