John 8:12 NKJV Todays Devotion: Light and Darkness Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” I believe that Jesus came to show us to be reflections of his light to those in darkness. Standing for the truth, even if it means being ridiculed or mocked, means we are being a light to all around us. In Isaiah, it said that thick darkness covered the earth.... a thick darkness that would one day be defeated by the True Light which lights ALL men that come into the world. When we minister with Gods love, mercy, compassion, we are letting our light shine. To some, it will be very uncomfortable, that we are being that light but may the power of the holy spirit convict those who are in darkness so that they may receive the Light of Life. Peter said in his letter, But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Proclaiming Gods goodness in our lives, how we were set free and saved is proclaiming the Light of life. So may our Lord Jesus, give us the strength and courage to be a light and stand for the truth when it is needed and may he fill us with His perfect light so that neighbor or friend or co worker may see Jesus in us so that they would pass from death to life, after all, isnt that what the cross is all about?
