A thought just came to me, the motion picture “Delivery Man” - TopicsExpress

A thought just came to me, the motion picture “Delivery Man” starring Vince Vaughn and Chris Pratt. Like the film, started off with men in the 90’s who’d like to make a few extra bucks, making ends meet to be a sperm donor. This eventually also moved to women who’d be egg donors. If I recall, most of the contracts written since then had anonymity in mind. In order to protect the couple who’ve decided to use donor sperm/egg and raise the child as their own. Plus, to protect the donor from having any sort of liabilities in the future that a child might claim for compensation. However, over the years with the donors’ sperm/eggs that may have been preserved - What are the clauses that specify the frequency of a single person’s sperm/eggs that may be used? Is it single use and once it’s successfully implanted via vitro that the donor’s remaining cells are removed from the possible list of candidates in the future? (I don’t know at all… just questions out of curiosity.) Ok, let’s say that every clinic is NOT as ethical as you may think and decided to use the same donor’s sperm/eggs multiple times - and NOT advising the donor and/or request for consent… Since the 90’s, the children who are conceived using donor sperm/eggs are in their 20’s. It’s not only the matter if the child has the RIGHT TO KNOW or not. There’s an additional factor to be aware, where two children have no idea of his and her DNA genetic makeup that could be from a single donor. AND possibly got-to-know each other - dating each other and then marriage, to even having a child with his/her half-sister/brother?!? Would this be a concern to the public if there were clinics over the years that have had unethical practices? -------------------- Additional Info: IMDb entry: Delivery Man (2013) imdb/title/tt2387559/
