And on Tuesday night, Mariah Carey lived up to that reputation, through no fault of her own, as she opened the 2014 World Music Awards, held at Monte Carlos Le Sporting Club in Monaco four hours behind schedule. The 44-year-old was all set to launch her new album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, which is currently No.1 on the iTunes charts in 20 countries, prior to the awards show, but when it was pushed back by several hours due to changing of presenters last minutes, the proceedings were thrown into chaos. She was awarded the Pop Icon and Best-Selling Solo Artist Of All-Time gongs and took to the podium to make a gushing speech dressed in her second outfit of the evening. In another show of her divaliciousness, Mariah even arrived with her own lighting guy to ensure she looked her absolute best at all times. She likes to have her lighting man wherever she goes to make sure the lighting is right. Thats really important to her, a source tells The Mirror.
