AMOS AND ANDY & GAY HOLLYWOOD Every oppressed community goes through this ... when its time to tell the entertainment community that your community is not a ridiculous stereotype to be the subject of every punch line. Yes, there are gay men who happen to be drama or fashion queens ... but no more than there are Black Americans who happen to be lazy and on welfare or Jewish Americans who happen to be obsessed with their money or Italian Americans who happen to be involved in organized crime or Asian Americans who happen to be great at science and prefer tinkering with electronics to interacting with people. Yes ... there are. BUT But when your creative imagination is limited to gay being only the drama or fashion queen stereotype, you need to accept that youre not as creative as you think you are ... even if youre gay. Because when you finally reach enlightenment, youll realize that you were no more creative than the writers of Amos and Andy.
