APSA update 8.66 @ 161mph first pass, next one left didnt hold it in 1st long enough and wouldnt come out of 1st gear (dog box rule 101). First Chicago shootout was paired against Lukis CRX, he got the holeshot and I didnt see him until the 1000ft mark where he flew past and trapped 177mph! Machine! I ran faster but fell asleep on the line, on this run we had upped the boost but it didnt respond and ran 8.75 @ 160mph. Got back to the pits and had a big crack around our 1990s tech 5th injector bung. Dr Phil Laird came to the rescue and welded it up and we were back for the second Chicago shootout (now the last run because they were forced to cut the meeting short). This meant that we dialled the duty into the most boost the 71 can make on my engine which is 52psi. Cut a better light and was up in the air, absolutely on a mission, unfortunately I felt ignition breakdown twice and had to abort the run. Rolled it over of a mid 9, another run would have seen a smaller plug gap and were certain a PB to finish the year but it wasnt to be. Still had a great time, glad we have moved forward with car setup. Massive thanks to George and Sam from Advance Motor Mechanics for the car prep as always, still an 8 second car all day after the street ks it has copped all year! Stix for all his tuning tweaking, fine tuning, road tuning and ball breaking, who also was having fun in the Supra out there with a 7.04 @ a honking 223mph! Video coming soon mate :) Royal Purple oils for superior engine protection, Jim Berry from Raceclutch (beyond me what this thing has taken and still going!) Haltech ECU for providing the hardware to keep the car on song, Kyle @ 6boost for his killer manifolds and wisdom, and PPG Gearbox. Well, CDI next and a few more tweaks to do a bit more chasing in 2015. Back into street mode and some enjoyment until it cools down. Will upload vids soon!
