DEPARTMENT : TECHNICAL _______________________________________________________________________ 3. BRIEF OF JOB SUMMARY (Basic Functions): 3.1 Initiating, planning, controlling, coordinating, evaluating, and leading major engineering work. 4. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 4.1 Responsible to Head, A/E group and other engineers in selection, evaluation, training, and development of engineers and engineering draftsmen within his discipline. 4.2 Coordinates on a daily, and needs, basis with the Manager, or with other seniors within his discipline or other disciplines for A/E projects and for immediate problems solving. 4.3 Makes recommendations to Head, A/E/ group regarding administrative matters, working policies, financial control, procurement of personnel, budgeting, marketing, etc. 4.4 Held accountable for the quality and speed of all engineering design and drafting, including standard details. Works closely with all engineers and engineering draftsman on a continuing basis in the spirit of improving skills, techniques, speed, quality, completeness and accuracy. Acts as teacher, but is still responsible for all engineering work. 4.5 Introduces new concepts, techniques (i.e. computer calculation programs), materials. 4.6 Acts as senior resource person for engineers, jr. engineers within his discipline. 5. OCCASIONAL DUTIES: 5.1 Acts as project manager, project engineer, or resource engineer for projects. 5.2 Helps in preparation of proposals contracts, and other marketing activities. 5.3 Makes periodic inspections of construction projects. 6. AUTHORITY 6.1 Can be deputized to act as Head, A/E group, in his absence, thereby assuming the Manager’s authority 7. PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: 7.1 Directly responsible to Head, A/E group. Responsible for staff of his discipline under his supervision i.e. engineers, jr. engineers, draftsmen. Frequent contact with project managers. 8. JOB FACTORS: 8.1 Education, Knowledge and Skills: Minimum bachelor or master’s degree in engineering. 8.2 Experience: Minimum 8-10 years professional experience in a wide range of building types. Actual construction field experience is helpful. 8.3 Physical Effort: Requires constant stamina. 8.4 Initiative: Requires continuous innovation and leadership. 8.5 Mental Effort: Requires working under stress in leadership role. Salary Range: 5000 - 7000 SAR plus free food, transportation, accommodation, medical and yearly vacations for right candidate. Note: 1.
