ASOTIN, WA - Retired Washington State University Extension Educator Betty Meloy will be teaching a class on Pressure Canning on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Floch Hall on the Asotin County Fairgrounds in Asotin. Registration is due by tomorrow. From WSU Extension: The class will focus on using science-based “Pressure Canning” and “Hot Water Bath Canning” techniques to safely preserve vegetables and fruits. Hands-on demonstrations will be included as part of the workshop. A discussion of other food preservation methods (freezing and drying) will be included as time permits. The cost is $10 per attendee to cover materials. Please pre-register by August 19.
