After a four year effort campaigners have secured five million pounds in funding to save Hartlebury Castle for the public, and have promised to make it A real jewel for Worcestershire. A heritage lottery fund grant will enable a local group to buy the Castle, securing the long term future of the collections of rare books and portraits, and the County museum which is also based on the site. The Castle was home to the Bishops of Worcester for more than one thousand one hundred years, until 2007.
