After a winter that was mostly warm and dry, our Northern - TopicsExpress

After a winter that was mostly warm and dry, our Northern California spring is mostly cold and wet. Aside from the seasons seemingly running backwards, we are working forward on new and interesting projects. We are looking for a few brave individuals who want to serve as “alpha testers” for the ASK MATT Game. If you are interested, please contact me ASAP at: [email protected] At ASK MATT, we are working on a new “game” that provides a new approach to Strategic Knowledge Mapping. Using our emerging understanding of conceptual systems, this game is designed to help managers, leaders, and coalitions create a shared “conceptual map.” Players place their pieces on the board – identifying points of interest (things that are important to them) and causeways (causal linkages between important points of interest). Players earn individual points, as well as shared points. As the players move forward, their map becomes more complex, more comprehensive and more systemic. The result is a collaborative causal map indicating the strengths of their strategic understanding as well as areas where they could benefit from bringing in additional knowledge or expertise. This game is a great way to build collaboration and communication, increase understanding, and prepare for Strategic Planning. We have a new blog post… asaging.org/blog/navigating-success-becoming-part-complete-systems-care Upcoming Conferences… Dr. Steven Wallis and Dr. Bernadette Wrights paper on “Integrative Propositional Analysis: An Emerging Methodology for Constructing More Useful Theories of Poverty” has been accepted for presentation as part of the “Constructing Theories of Poverty, Inequality, and Policy: Potentials and Limitations - THEMATIC” at the 2014 Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP) Annual Meeting Aug 15-17 in San Francisco.
