After feeling very sick and gross and wearing vagrant clothing to work today, a lovely older gentleman at Whole Foods came right up to me and said excuse me but I would just like to take some time out of my day to pay you a compliment, I think you are very beautiful and pretty and just wanted to let you know. In a time where we are trying to teach our men to be respectful to women, I found his approach kind and it made me smile and say thank you. Did I need him to validate my looks or my life decisions? NOPE. Did his comments make me uncomfortable or demean my self worth? NOPE. But it did make me think, even during a time of coughs and stuffy noses I can still wiggle that butt.
