After the BS that happened at work last night the desire to push myself to do my best and pass my CDL A Test became more real and apparent! You can call me a rent a cop, public safety officer or Campus Safety officer and supervisor frankly its all the same thing. I make decent but not great money which should be increased a lot for being unappreciated, under paid over worked and not safely protected and put up with not only college life but also the scum city life of the worst parts of Hartford walking in and on our campus. I care about my safety my fellow officers safety and the safety of my 5,000 kids at one time and all the time. What I dont care for and wont stand for is when little local teen punks come on our campus thinking their tuff lashing out at us because they think they can after what happened in Missouri and blow out the window of one of our SUV Patrol Units with one of our guys in the car when it happened. Then run away like little cowards. Regardless of what we do at the end of the night the importance of Safety and going home safe is the most important thing! Now we have to constantly watch our own backs at work and we arent being given anything to protect ourselves. If Im gonna make 16.50 an hour you can better believe that its gonna be doing something fun and not having to watch my back wondering whats going to happen next on a college campus that has an open public policy to all and doesnt do enough to protect college students and campus safety officers!
