After the euphoria of last night, Im still absolutely buzzing! (despite immense sleep deprivation) Feel so proud of all members of Cambridge Universities Labour Club whove come out canvassing since Ive been chair for the last 6 months, and to see Dan Ratcliffe win after 18 months of hard campaigning and Peter Sarris after 3 months of intense activity feels amazing! Newnham put in a bloody good effort increasing turnout by 60% too! Given Sarris only won by 10 votes and Dan relies on students to canvass for him, this means CULC made the difference in winning Labour 2 brilliant City Councillors yesterday! I cannot express my thanks more to Holly Higgins, Fred Cotterill, Tom Wilson, Alx Rice, Laurie Wooldridge, Alice Emily Singer, Rory Weal, Colm Murphy, Heather Abbey, Imogen Buxton, Phelim Brady, Tony Leech, Georgina Elizabeth, Jack Kerwin, Micha Eversley, David Hoyle, Thomas Leach, Sam Matthew, Joanna Mason, Alec Turner, Stefan Lacny, Sarah Coombes, Matthew Worth, Barney McCay, Christopher Hinchliff, Gabriel Fleming, Harry Dadswell, Andrew Lawrence, Max Twivy and anyone else Ive forgotten- you guys bloody rock!
