Afternoon!!! I just wanted to share a few thoughts with you. For those of you who are just starting to coupon and even the veterans out there..a few tips to make your shopping experience better. First off you should KNOW the terms of each and every coupon you present at the register. You should know if there is a size requirement...a limit of coupon or product and you should know what is promised to the retailer. I dont mean to memorize it...but be familiar with each coupon so if you have to point out terms to a questioning cashier of manager...you know what you are talking about. Dont assume the cashier, manager or any other employee knows anything lol (sorry if you work in retail). You should be abiding by the coupon terms. Whether you realize it or not this is a contract of sorts. Know the terms of use. Its important and could save you from getting the deal or not. Next, I cant stress enough to encourage you to KNOW the coupon/price matching policy of all the stores you are using coupons/price matching in. You should print out a copy or keep it pulled up on your phone while shopping. Review it regularly because policies can change. All stores that accept coupons have a coupon policy. You can find it on their website. Dont rely on the store to know their own policy. Trust me...many cashiers dont get enough training in this area. IF something isnt right...dont hesitate to call their customer service number for help. Most corporate cs reps have that info at their fingertips and are there to help you. Lastly, I was raised to be kind and respectful to all. There is no need to be rude. Go in with the knowledge that we as couponers, have a bad rap. There is a small percentage of us that earn that rep for all of us. I have had extreme couponers tell me that its ok to distract a cashier so you can use expired coupons or to photocopy printables but not to use them in the same store twice or its ok to clear three stores shelves in one day. Please remember that knowing a stores coupon policy and knowing the terms of each coupon are sometimes your best defense at checkout. Handle questioning cashiers calmly and friendly even when they arent. This is supposed to be fun!!! Happy Couponing!!
