Alright, this is a general note to everyone, stop with hating - TopicsExpress

Alright, this is a general note to everyone, stop with hating people because they RP on their own terms, sure you may not agree with them, and you may not even like them. But you shouldnt hate them. Every person who is out here to RP has their own unique background and personal life that influences how they RP. I suggest that before you go yelling at people for doing the things they do ( especially when in character) you just check to see if youve made some of the mistakes ( if that is how you wish to view their actions) that they have, or think about how you would feel if you were in their place. To be sure in my three years of RP experience ( putting that out their as a fact, not as a way of saying I have a lot of experience and know what Im doing-- I totally dont half of the time) I have run into RPers I wish Id never run into- mainly because they were BAD RPers, I mean really REALLY bad at it. But I never said a word to them and I avoided them when I could, but I would interact with them too, in hope that they might get better ( sometimes they did, sometimes they didnt) I have also acted as a mentor to a few RPers as well. So from these two perspectives I can say that, yes there are crazy RPers Wh are OK to avoid, but that doesnt mean you should hate them, theyre just people doing what they enjoy doing- or doing something that is escape from their daily lives, either way, it is not our place to judge or hate our fellow role players, especially the ones we like least. Instead we should try to point them in the right direction, and if they dont want to be pointed, we should at least treat them nicely and deal with then in an effective yet kind way. I know this sounds weird coming from someone who runs a Sith page, but its true! Also, I just want to be clear that this is not directed at anyone in particular. It is directed at everyone in Star Wars RP, because I have seen far to many Star Wars RPers use the word hate when talking about other people. And I think that needs to change, instead if creating a culture of loathing, we need to cultivate a culture of kindness and respect. And in order to do so we need to worry less about our own reputations and care more about others. Everything you write has the power to hurt somebody else- so instead of lashing out on your wall or on your enemies page, take a moment to step back and ask yourself how you would feel if you were treated the way you treat others.... I know Im not the poster boy for that, but Im going to try to follow my own advice on it. Lets try and remember that every human is valuable and has a heart... And then lets treat everyone the way we would want to be treated, with kindness, decency, and good humor.
