Always bump the ref to pop the crowd. Id suggest hitting your finisher several times and by no means should you discuss it with the ref prior to doing it. If youre a babyface then just smile while you do it and shrug your shoulders afterwards and play to the crowd. If youre heel then you should hit your finisher at least 3 times and then do something humiliating to the referee like a wedgie or taking off his shirt and throwing it into the crowd, maybe take off his belt and whip him with it. Referees LOVE when guys do this because it makes them more of a part of the show and is a thrilling surprise where they get to be a crash test dummy for workers.
