Amid growing community concerns over coal and coal seam gas in Australia, the Australian Student Environment Network has released a documentary ‘Mining the Truth.’ In late 2012 sixty students travelled to communities affected by coal and gas in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. ‘Mining the Truth’ follows this journey, showcasing the stories of individuals and communities met along the way whose lives has been turned upside down by the extractive industries. The documentary was filmed by a team of budding new film makers as well as experienced camera crew. Come along to the South Australian premier screening of the film at Flinders University Humanities North Theatre 2 (Just off the Plaza opposite Subway) at 6pm Thursday 20th June. We will be asking for a gold coin donation to help recoup the production costs off the film. The screening will be followed by a discussion and some other short films about how we can all take action to transition away from fossil fuels facebook/events/125736064301483/?ref=22
