Amy Hallan A bit lengthy but here is my contribution to the rejection. Dear Topman Administration Having viewed Topman as a respected retailer in the past, I was very disappointed to learn that you are using images of Rottweiler dogs in a negative way to promote your fashion items. I am not sure who in your Marketing / Design department felt that this was an appropriate thing to do. For me this has been ill thought through without due research on the impact it could have on the wider society and the canine world, in particularly the Rottweiler breed. This breed is already misrepresented and much unjustified media coverage has instilled fear, rejection and cruelty to this wonderful breed. A well nurtured Rottweiler is far from what is claimed by those who are ignorant .... it is a dog that has a high level of intelligence with endless devotion and empathy that is very close to that of a human being ....if you have owned a Rottweiler then you will realise that no other breed can match its contribution as a family member. Your clothing does nothing but add fuel to the fire when many devoted Rottweiler owners are working hard to counteract the problems already caused by bad publicity for this breed. Just a small scenario ..... a little negative publicity such as yours, can have adverse affects, here are a few examples: more Rottweilers being abandoned and ending up in rescues and put to sleep, more Rottweilers bred by back yard breeders and pups sold on to those who have alterior motives .....to people inclined to use them as status symbols without giving appropriate guidance and care to the dogs and thus leading to behavioural problems, or they could be used for fighting and suffer horrendous cruelty ..... yes these are facts and the world we live in today. As you can see these problems in the canine world are created by MAN and but the blame is sadly ALWAYS attributed to the DOGS. Please can I ask that you review the production of these items and take into consideration the serious impact it could have for this wonderful and misrepresented breed. I ask that perhaps you look at alternatives such a more positive portrayal of the Rottweiler. If you are looking for ideas then I am sure there are many Rottweiler fans and groups that I can put you in touch with to help you with your designs. Waiting in anticipation for a reply and a positive outcome. Amy Hallan.
