An angry constituent of Tony Burkes electorate writes to him after his inflammatory speech to the Australian Palestinian Advocacy Network. The person is a friend of this page and has forwarded it onto me with their consent I re-post. Note email was sent to Tony Burke on 8 September this year and our friend is still waiting on a reply. They tell me that they placed a call to Burkes office first. After initially denying that such a speech was made, and blaming Murdoch for making up such lies, the person on the phone eventually had to admit the truth. Yes the speech was made and confirmed the content. The discussion lasted 30 minutes with our friend asking for a transcript. None arrived EMAIL: Dear Mr Burke, I live in your electorate. You have now made my world a dangerous place to live in. We are in a time that history will most likely refer as the turning point. Tensions are brewing and your speech just empowered those who support jihadism. Today we read how an auctioned jihadist flag has been re-posted by a 16 year old in a jihadist uniform. Your speech will strengthen the rational behind jihadist actions and the Hamas agenda of obliterating Israel. What many politicians dont understand is that many of us explore the internet by-passing party propaganda and bias news reporting. From UN buildings and schools as a deliberate strategy to make Israel look bad, so politicians like yourself will fall in the propaganda trap waged by Hamas to condemn Israel. Civilian casualties is what wins Hamas world support for they dont have the fire power to beat Israel. They rely on propaganda. So when a politician comes along and re-enforces this belief then Australia is heading for certain unrest. I am so disappointing with what you said and feel betrayed. You are not acting in what is in the best interest of your electorate. I know that 20% are Muslims. I feel you are protecting your voter base at the expense of the other 80%. Perhaps this will enable you to win your seat but the voters will vote harshly in other seats to balance the injustice and betrayal. I would prefer you do the right thing by all Australians as I dont think Liberal has a any chance of winning in your electorate anyway. Im so disappointing and depressed.
