And now, while it is fresh on my mind, is my official review of Peter Jacksons The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: Forget you, Mr. Jackson. (Edited, since I do not know Mr. Jackson personally and it is wrong for me to use such strong language against I person that I do not but have grown to dislike as an extension of his work). There ends the official review. As an aside each of his LOTR films have been progressively worse. Worse over the top sequences. Worse in terms of keeping anywhere near Tolkiens work. Worse in terms of effects. And worse in terms of feeling like sequences were put in just for video game tie-ins. He has taken a beloved classic and ended it with an, I kid you not, almost two hour fight scene. This is my favor I ask of the movie making world. Please Stop Peter Jackson from remaking anything... ever. If he wants to bring an original work to the big screen, more power to him. Actually, how about we do this for all of Hollywood. Lay off the remakes. PLEASE. While waiting for this turkey of a film, I saw trailers for a remake of Mad Max as well as a reboot of the Terminator franchise. Oh, and lets do a media change of the Halo series. And if my childhood wasnt abused enough tonight, as I left the theater I had to pass right by a giant sign for a new Paddington Bear movie. It is enough to make me want to go hide in darkest Peru.
