“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Genesis 2: 7). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today. In our Focal Scripture, God breathed into the nostrils of man. If one were to breathe into the nostrils of another man, one would have to come close to the other man. So, God came close to man in order to breathe into man’s nostrils; God came close to man in order to make a deposit in man. Friend, when God is close to you, He will breathe something new into you. When youre close to God, He will make fresh deposits into your life, and give you what you never had before. Your intimacy with God is His opportunity to renew His breath in your inner man, and give you a fresh fire of His Spirit; your proximity to God is your chance to receive from Him; your daily walk with God through prayers and God’s word causes you to be loaded daily with God’s benefits. God doesn’t seek proximity with you in order to gain anything from you; He only wants you close to Himself because He wants to make fresh deposits in you. God doesn’t need your prayers to survive as God; your prayers are Gods platform to reach out and release more of Himself to you. Every step you take towards God takes you closer to divine treasures, and takes you farther from the enemy. Get closer and more devoted to God; stay close to God in prayers, and by studying and meditating on His word; spend time with God wherever you are, be it at home, in the traffic, at work, everywhere. If the enemy is constantly plotting to destroy you, then you should also be constantly seeking more proximity to God. There are scavengers waiting for a chance to devour you; those that are far from God are within the reach of the enemy. Stay close to God. Pray With Me: Lord, I want to be close to You, in Jesus’ name! Have A Blessed Thursday.
